Zee Next was a Hindi language general entertainment channel established by Zee Entertainment Enterprises promoted by Essel Group based in Mumbai, Maharashtra.[1] The channel was launched on December 11, 2007 in India, and was available on almost all cable operators in India. With the evolution of TV viewing audiences, this channel offers a very refreshing and blooming entertainment aimed at bridging the generation gap. Catering to the needs of the entire spectrum of television audiences, the channel offers a wide assortment of programming across genres ranging from comedy-dramas to the most entertaining reality shows. The channel was shut down on September 7, 2008, nearly a year after its launch due to high costs and lack of investors.[2]

Programming

Zee Next ceased broadcasting on 7 September 2008; therefore, cancelled/scratched quite a few scripts that were to be made into actual programmes. Some concepts that were cancelled by the channel were Rohit Roy's Rang - The Colors of Love, Sharad Kelkar's Siraj-ud-Daulah, and Sampada Vaze's Hum Tum.
