Zedrick Restauro is a Filipino-American television and film actor.

Career

Film and television

Restauro started in film and television in 2011, when he was cast in a supporting role on the street-racing action feature film 200 mph from production company The Asylum (Z Nation, Sharknado) as young awkward mechanic Phong.[1]
He was also cast in the feature film Fred Olen Ray's Super Shark. The film occasionally airs on NBCUniversal Syfy channel.[2]

In 2012, Restauro was cast in the comedy feature film Bikini Spring Break.[3] 200 mph and Bikini Spring Break are distributed and available on Netflix, iTunes, and various on demand services and subscription streaming services as well as on DVD/Blu-ray.[4][5]

In 2013, Restauro played the lead role in indie film Hikikomori directed by Josema Roig,[6] an Official Selection at the annual NewFilmmakers LA film festival, On Location: The Los Angeles Video Project.[7]

In 2014, Restauro guest stars on hit ABC Family sitcom Melissa & Joey as nerdy Preston, in the 3rd season episode, "Accidents Will Happen" directed by Robbie Countryman,[8] his scenes alongside series regular Nick Robinson and fellow guest star Denyse Tontz[9]
Restauro co stars on ABC comedy Modern Family in the 6th season episode, "Marco Polo" directed by Fred Savage.[10] His scene is opposite Emmy-winner Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.[11]

In 2015, Restauro co-stars on Nickelodeon sitcom The Thundermans in the 2nd season episode, "The Neverfriending Story"[12] directed by Shannon Flynn.[13][14]
Restauro plays one of the lead roles in indie comedy feature film Hickey as Jeremy Banks.[15] The film is produced, written, and directed by multiple Cannes Lions winning writer/director Alex Grossman.[16]

Theater

Restauro performed in many regional theater and college productions in supporting and leading roles before pursuing a film/television acting career. His first role in theater was a production of Dark Of The Moon in 2006 at Alpha Theater Company in Burnaby, Canada,[17] playing the lead role of John, the Witch-Boy.

In 2009, Restauro was cast as the lead in the Christopher Durang play Beyond Therapy at the Golden West Theater. He played Bruce, a bisexual man being treated by a crazed therapist.[18] He also played the role of Marvin in a production of the Joseph Stein comedy Enter Laughing at the Long Beach Playhouse.[19]

In 2010, Restauro competed in the national collegiate Acting competition, The Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Awards at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. He advanced to the semi-finals performing scenes from The Red Coat by John Patrick Shanley playing lovesick teen John; and Closer by Patrick Marber as Larry.[20]

Restauro has also performed in productions of Bat Boy: The Musical, Rashomon, and Our Town,[21]

Other works

In 2011, Restauro appeared in a commercial for Hewlett Packard,[22] an international spot that aired throughout Asia.[23]

Personal life

Restauro was born in the Philippines, and raised in Biñan, Laguna. He has since moved to California, but also lived in Vancouver, Canada in 2005-2007, now residing in Los Angeles.[24] He has four sisters.[25]

He is close friends with actors Amber Luallen[26] (The Mindy Project)[27] and Stephen Anthony Bailey[28] (Extant).[29]
