ZALORA is an online fashion retailer that sells apparel, accessories, shoes and beauty products for women and men. Headquartered in Singapore, ZALORA has localised sites in Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam and Brunei. ZALORA sells both international brands as well as local brands in each country of its operation. ZALORA also operates as The Iconic in Australia and New Zealand. It is the flagship investment of Rocket Internet in Singapore.

History

2012

In early 2012, the ZALORA launched its various localized sites across Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.[1]

2013

In the first quarter of 2013, ZALORA extended the services of ZALORA Malaysia by offering a delivery service to Brunei.

In mid 2013, ZALORA completed their first round of funding, raising US$100 million.[2] In last quarter of 2013, ZALORA launched its own private label, Ezra by ZALORA. It also announced that it had come to an agreement to be the sole online distributor of UK-based fashion brand River Island in Southeast Asia.[3] ZALORA also announced that they had successfully completed their second round of funding, raising a total of US$112 Million.[4] This funding was earmarked to drive ZALORA's efforts to grow its product offering and market base.[5]

2014

In the first quarter of 2014, ZALORA announced plans to set up a Marketplace.[6]

12.12 Online Fever which happens on the 12th of December every year is ZALORA led initiative[7] which aims to help to accelerate the e-commerce growth by working with e-commerce players from different industries and across the region to make a concerted effort in driving consumers spending and fostering consumer confidence in online transactions. Similar to the Black Friday sales, customers receive special discounts prior to the Christmas holidays throughout the duration of Online Fever.
