The Gray Spring Zale (Zale submediana) is a moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found from Wisconsin to Maine, south to New Jersey and in mountains to North Carolina.
The wingspan is about 39 mm. There is one generation over much of range.
The larvae feed on Jack pine, Pitch pine, Red pine and probably other hard pines.
