Zafar Iqbal was an actor in the cinema of Bangladesh. He was considered a romantic hero in the 1970s and 1980s. He was a frequent collaborator of Bobita. Zafar Iqbal was a singer in addition to being an actor. His sister Shahnaz Rahmatullah and brother Anwar Parvez are both singers. His most notable film was Abujh Hridoy (1989) with co-stars Babita and Champa.

Personal life

Iqbal was a singer and actor. His playback of the song "Hoy Jodi Badnam" is a Bengali movie song. He also performed some Bangla songs like "Sukhe Thako O Amar Nondini," "Je Bhabey Bachi Beche To Achhi," and "Bidesh Theke Deshe Ele Bhai Bondhu Sobai Bole."

Career

His first film was Apon Por with Kabori. Most of his roles were as a romantic hero, sometimes in a rural setting. He was associated with Bobita; they were co-stars in many films. For a time they were involved in a relationship. Iqbal worked in over 150 films.

Death

He died in 1991 from blood cancer.
