Yvonne Lui

Yvonne Lui (呂麗君) is a prominent Hong Kong investor, businesswoman and philanthropist. She serves on the board of a number of corporations and international charities.

Background

Lui was educated in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. She received BSc and PhD degrees from King's College at University of London. Since 2003, her family has amassed one of the largest collections of Western art, including masterpieces by Paul Gauguin and Andy Warhol. The Yvonne L. K. Lui Foundation was established in 2013 to support important initiatives in the areas of culture, education, public health and environmental conservation.

Philanthropy

Culture

Lui serves as Vice President of the Organizing Committee of the Beijing International Ballet and Choreographer Competition, which is hosted annually by the National Centre for the Performing Arts.

Education

Lui is Honorary Chairman of the Hong Kong United Youth Exchange Foundation, a youth advancement organization. She is also Honorary President of Hong Kong Federation of Women, a non-profit organisation of over 100,000 members that subsidises local organisations for women. In 2008, she was named Executive Vice-President of the Executive Committee of Youth Movement. The body encouraged grass root support of the Olympic Games, and participation in sporting events. She is a trustee of Peking University and the Beijing University of International Business and Economics.

Public Health

Lui serves as Vice-President of Centum Charitas Foundation and Member of the Hospital Governing Committee of Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital. In 2007, Lui established an aid project that built local medical and sanitation clinics for remote communities in Hebei Province. In recognition of these efforts Lui was appointed an honorary member of the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Environmental Conservation

A member of the board of directors of Conservation International, Lui works with the organisation to help better sustainability, species re-introduction and conservation efforts in Hong Kong and China.

Politics

In 2013, Lui was appointed as a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference for Beijing.[1]
