Yuvaraju is a 2000 Tollywood film directed and produced by YVS Chowdary. This film gave Mahesh Babu the tag "Prince", as Yuvaraju means prince. The film had a 100-day run in 34 centres.
Plot
Srinivas (Mahesh Babu) just returns to India and joins a college in Hyderabad. There he meets his classmate Srivalli (Saakshi Sivanand), a young beautiful girl with whom he falls in love. Srivalli has a childhood friend, Vamsi (Venkat) in abroad whom she regards as her best friend and keeps him close to her heart as when a plane crashed 20 years back these two are the only survivors of the tragedy.
Finally Srinivas and Srivalli comes to know that they are in love with each other. They break the news followed by a lavish engagement ceremony. For the placid viewers then comes the excitement in the form of Srilata (Simran) who arrives in nick of time to attend the engagement. Srivalli comes to know that these guys know each other in abroad from the brief observation at her engagement ceremony.
The rest of the story is about who is Srilatha and what happens to Srinivas's love.
Reception
Yuvaraju was 2nd movie for Mahesh followed by disaster Vamsi. Y.V.S. Chowdary who does not have any flops till then continued his success track with Yuvaraju. Initially the movie got negative response from audiences but movie took its own time to get an hit status. This movie released in summer and slowly after 3 weeks it gained positive talk. The songs composed by Ramana Gogula played important role for the movies success. It was a profitable venture to all who bought it. Movie later ran 125–150 days. Completed 50 days in 80 centers and 100 days at direct 34 centers.
Reviews
Yuvaraju mostly got positive reviews. Idlebrain rated 3/5.[1] fullhyd rated 7/10.[2] telugucinema stated that movie is average.[3]
Music
The movie's music is still popular and music played a vital role in its success. It is another musical hit Mahesh Babu's film career.
Boxoffice
Initially movie got mixed response but slowly it gained positive mouth talk and collections growth seen day by day and movie declared an hit at box office.
