Yutan Town (simplified Chinese: 玉潭镇; traditional Chinese: 玉潭鎮; pinyin: Yùtán Zhèn), is a city in Ningxiang County, Changsha City, Hunan Province, China. It borders Baimaqiao Township to the southwest, Chengjiao Township to the north and Lijingpu Township to the southeast. As of 2010, it has a population of 200,000 and an area of 20 square kilometers.

The town is divided into nine districts: Bayi District (八一社区), Chuwei District (楚沩社区), Huaming District (花明社区), Nanyuan District (南苑社区), Tongyi District (通益社区), Wenzhong District (文中社区), Xiangshan District (香山社区), Xincheng District (新城社区), and Xue'an District (学庵社区).
Geography
Wei River, also known as "Mother River", is a tributary of the Xiang River that flows through the city.[1]
Education
Three senior high schools are located within the city: Ningxiang County First Senior High School (宁乡一中), Ningxiang County Experimental Senior High School (宁乡县实验中学), and Yutan Experimental Senior High School (玉潭实验中学).

Huaguxi is a popular form of theater.
Access
The National Highway runs through the territory of 319 (国道319), with Changchang Highway (长常高速公路) and 3 county rural roads: the 319 National Highway which continues into Yiyang City, linking Yutan with the Chengjiao and Jinghuapu Townships; the 1810 Provincial Highway (1810省道) from Yutan which runs through Shuangfupu Town, Hengshi Town, Laoliangcang Town, Liushahe Town, Qingshanqiao Town and connects to Loudi City; and the 1823 Provincial Highway (1823省道) from Yutan which runs through Donghutang Town, Huaminglou Town and connects to Shaoshan City.[1]
The Luoyang–Zhanjiang Railway, from Luoyang City, Henan Province to Shijiazhuang City, Guangzhou Province, runs through the city.[1]
