Younger is an American television comedy-drama series based on the Pamela Redmond Satran novel of the same name. The series stars Sutton Foster as the lead character, with Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor and Nico Tortorella co-starring in other main roles.[1] The single-camera project was created and produced by Darren Star. Patricia Field, who worked with Star on Sex and the City, is a costume consultant on the production. The first season will consist of 12 episodes,[1][2] and premiered on March 31, 2015, at 10 pm Eastern time.[3][4]
The series has received positive reviews from critics. On April 21, 2015, Younger was renewed for a second season of 12 episodes.[5][6]
Premise
Liza (Sutton Foster) is a 40-year-old recently divorced mother trying to get a job, which proves difficult for a woman of her age. After a compliment from a much younger man Josh (Nico Tortorella), she decides to get a makeover, courtesy of her best friend Maggie (Debi Mazar), in order to look like she is in her mid-twenties. Ultimately, she becomes an assistant to Diana (Miriam Shor) at a publishing firm, where she befriends co-worker Kelsey (Hilary Duff).

Critical reception
Younger has received positive reviews from critics. Rotten Tomatoes gives the show a rating of 96%,[18] while Metacritic gave the show a score of 75 out of 100 based on 20 reviews.[19] The Rotten Tomatoes' critical consensus reads, "Darren Star's witty writing and Sutton Foster's charisma help elevate Younger above some of TV Land's previous sitcoms."[18]
