You Can’t Win was a 1966 British television series made by ITV starring Ian McShane as Joe Lunn, in an adaptation of the novels Scenes from Provincial Life and also Scenes from Married Life by William Cooper. The hero Joe Lunn is an English provincial grammar school physics teacher who later moves to London and into the English establishment.
The series had seven episodes: The Stream of Life; Learning the Law; The New Look; Goodbye Myrtle, Goodbye; Chaos is Come; In at the Deep End and Who'se for America.
