Yevhen Oleksandrovich Seleznyov (Ukrainian: Євген Олександрович Селезньов; born 20 July 1985 in Makiivka, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union) is a Ukrainian football striker who currently plays for Ukrainian Premier League club FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.

Career

Arsenal Kyiv (loan)

Yevhen Seleznyov is a product of the Shakhtar academy. In the winter of 2007, he went on a one-and-a-half year loan deal to Arsenal Kyiv. Seleznyov was one of the top goal-scorers in the 2007/2008 Ukrainian Premier League season, having scored 17 goals in 24 games while on loan to Arsenal Kyiv.

Shakhtar Donetsk

On completion of his loan he returned to Donetsk, he signed a 5-year deal.[1] Yevhen scored his first goal for Shakhtar on 3 August against Illichivets Mariupol in a 3–0 victory·

Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk

On 25 July 2009, Seleznyov signed with rivals Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in a deal worth €4.5 million. That same day, he scored his first goal for Dnipro on his debut in a Ukrainian Premier League match against Metalist Kharkiv. In the next two seasons, Seleznyov established himself as a key player at Dnipro. He showed good target man characteristics for a forward and good scoring ability, especially with his head. He was the top scorer of the 2010–11 Ukrainian Premier League season with 17 goals in 24 games.

Shakhtar Donetsk

On 22 June 2011, FC Dnipro's official website stated that Seleznyov will be moving back to his old club Shakhtar Donetsk. The official transfer fee has not yet been disclosed but it is estimated to be around €5 million.[2][3]

At the end of the 2011-12 season, Seleznyov was Shakhtar's top league goalscorer, and joint top league scorer outright with Maicon with 14. Seleznyov's didn't include any penalties, whereas Maicon's included 2. He also scored against APOEL Nicosia in the champions league, in a 2-0 win.[4]

Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk

On 29 August 2012, Seleznyov went back to FC Dnipro for an undisclosed fee.

International career

On 24 May 2008, he made his first appearance for the Ukrainian national football team in a friendly against Netherlands. On 19 November 2008, he scored his first international goal against Norway in Dnipropetrovsk. His second goal for the national team was on 10 February 2009 in a friendly match against Slovakia in Cyprus.
