The yellow-eared woodpecker (Veniliornis maculifrons) is a species of bird in the Picidae family. It is endemic to humid Atlantic Forest in eastern Brazil. Its common name refers to the yellow nape of both sexes - a feature not shared by any other Veniliornis in its range.
