Yang Huanning (simplified Chinese: 杨焕宁; traditional Chinese: 楊煥寧; pinyin: Yáng Huànníng; born March 1957) is a politician of People's Republic of China.
Biography
Yang was born in Anqiu, Shandong Province in March 1957. He was graduated from high school at the age of 18. The Down to the Countryside Movement was launched by Mao Zedong, Yang was sent to Liaocheng County, then he worked in Jinan Military Region (济南军区) as a worker. After the Resumption of University Entrance Examination, he entered Southwest University of Political Science & Law, where he majored in criminal investigation.
Yang became involved in politics in 1983, Yang was assigned to the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China.
In 1996, he was promoted to become the assistant of Minister of Public Security, a position he held until 2001.
In 2001, Yang earned a doctorate in the science of law from Peking University. At the same year, he rose through the ranks to become the Deputy Minister of Public Security, he remained in that position until January 2005, when he was transferred to Heilongjiang and appointed the Secretary of the Heilongjiang Provincial Politics and Law Commission.
In April 2008, Yang was transferred to Beijing as the Deputy Minister of Public Security.[1][2][3]
