Yala, Kenya
Yala is one of two divisions of Gem Constituency, Siaya County, western Kenya. It is situated 42 kilometres northwest of Kisumu City. In 1999 it had a population of 25,769 and Yala town had a population of 2,438.[1]
Infrastructure
Yala is served by a railway station, the Kisumu-Busia highway, Ndanu water treatment works, a jaggery (formerly Yala White Sugar Company). It is also the site of the Odera Akang'o Campus of Moi University.
