History

YASA Motors ("YASA" stands for "Yokeless and Segmented Armature") was founded in September 2009 to commercialize an electric motor developed for the Morgan LIFEcar in 2008 by Dr. Malcolm McCulloch and Dr. Tim Woolmer, then a PhD student, at the University of Oxford.[2][4][5]

Products and applications

YASA Motors offer a range of ready-made motors as well as specialized motors for use in a number of applications, such as hybrid engine and electric motor solutions, power generation and hydraulics replacement systems.[6][7] Their electric motors have been used in several high-performance cars like the Drive eO PP01, Jaguar C-X75, Koenigsegg Regera,[8][9][10] and a Lola Le Mans Prototype converted by Drayson Racing, which set a world electric land speed record in 2013.[11][12][13]
