Ximena Caminos

Ximena Caminos is the Executive Creative Director and partner in Faena Group,[1][2] and Chief Curator and Executive Director of the Faena Arts Center in Buenos Aires since 2004.[3][4] Caminos leads the Faena Prize for the Arts (see: Faena Arts Center), one of the largest art prizes in Latin America.[5][6] Caminos is the Executive Director of Faena Forum, "a new kind of multidisciplinary center in a flexible building that can house dance, theater, political debates, lectures and a wide range of other cultural happenings," opening in Miami Beach in 2015 and designed by Rem Koolhaas[7]

With her partner Alan Faena,[8] she has been cited as a major contributor to the arts scene in Buenos Aires.[7] They have one son named Noa.[9] Caminos is a member of the New Museum Leadership Council.[10]

Early career

Caminos was a curator at the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires until 2004,[7][9] and previously, a curator and producer for the Buenos Aires Secretary of Culture[2] She trained with Eduardo Stupía and Pablo Suarez[3] and worked with Miguel Briante at the Recoleta Cultural Center[11]
