Wyne Lay (born November 3, 1994) is a Myanmar ambassador [1] for Miss World as well as singer, song writer and pianist. Wyne is the very first Miss World Myanmar after Myanmar had revitalized the participation in Miss World Beauty Pageant Competition. Wyne has been raised up as a talented artist from her childhood in both Myanmar traditional music and pop music.

Early life

Wyne Lay,[2] namely Wut Yee Shun, was delivered from her parents of Moe Kyaw and Nu Nu on 3 November 1994, in No.2 Military Hospital, Dagon Township, Yangon, Myanmar. Wyne is the youngest sister among 3 daughters of Moe Kyaw. Wyne started to polish her musical skills from her pre-school in Bahtoo, Southern Shan State, Myanmar, in 1997.

Education

Wyne’s family moved to Sittwe, Rakhine State, in 1999, and Wyne was educated for her primary grades in Number 111, Basic Education Middle School (BEMS) in Meikhtila, Mandalay Region, from 2000 to 2002. Wyne studied her fifth grade in Number 1, BEMS, for one year and continued her high school in Number 2, Basic Education High School, Bahan. After her graduation from high school with 4 distinctions in 2010, Wyne joined University of Foreign Language (UFL), Yangon, for French Major. Wyne also attended French Language class run by French Embassy in Yangon apparently. Wyne graduated her diploma degree in 2013 with French Language from UFL.

Career

Wyne was trained for piano playing since 8 years old and joined the piano competition for Myanma Traditional Arts Competition (a singing, dancing, song writing and musical playing Competition held by Myanmar Government for various levels) and won her first gold medal for piano skills in 2004. Wyne has never stopped learning about arts since then. She won two silver medals in 2005 and 2006, one gold medal in 2007 consecutively at Myanma Traditional Arts Competition which was held annually. Pianist U Thet Oo, Pianist U Tin Win Hlaing, Pianist U Ngway Soe, Pianist U Myo Naing and Pianist U Tun Tun were piano trainers for Wyne’s accomplishments. Wyne had trained for her vocal skills from song writer Naung Naung (SF) and Ko Pi (Triangle Band). Wyne was also first runner up for French Songs Competition at French Embassy Myanmar in 2011. Wyne’s breakthrough performance was the Eain Met Sone Yar [3] (Where dreams meet – a very popular singing competition) Season 4 in which she was runner up. Her fame was lightened up by showing her talent in Myanmar traditional songs and musical skills. Wyne also composes song and plays Saung (Myanmar harp). Wyne has contributed her talent to the part of the recording for 27th South East Asia Game which was held in Myanmar in December 2013. She had recorded 6 group albums in 2013–2014 and publicized a music video karaoke album (Legend of Nightingale) in 2013 with two other singers. She had starred in some of her music video. The most magnificent achievement in her career is being crowned for Miss World Myanmar 2014 in September 2014 which took her to London on 20 November 2014 as an ambassador of Myanmar to participate in Beauty with the Purpose.
