Wogan's Perfect Recall was a game show presented by Terry Wogan. It was broadcast on Channel 4 and ran from 25 August 2008 to 19 November 2010.

Format

Round one is a general knowledge round with 20 questions. The contestant with the fewest points is eliminated.

In rounds 2 and 3, the questions are different, and usually harder, but the answers remain the same. The contestant with the lowest points is eliminated in each of these rounds. This means contestants can answer either by knowing the answer or by remembering an answer from previous rounds.

When only one contestant is left they play for up to £100,000. They must choose the number of questions they think they can answer correctly in 60 seconds. If they get fewer, they leave with nothing, whilst if they get more they still only get the amount they have chosen. The minimum number of questions required to answer correctly in order to get any money is 11, whilst the most is 20.

The show met with criticism due to the format of the final round, as very few contestants actually walked with a cash prize despite setting a low target. However, if the contestant didn't win any money he or she was awarded a consolation prize.

The first show broadcast had a winner (£1250) however they had recorded seven shows already and broadcast the first winner show to encourage viewers to watch again.

Terry Wogan told the first winner (off air) that in trials the only person to achieve the top prize had been a member of MENSA and he was glad that at last they had a winner although nowhere near the top prize.
