Woermann-Linie

Woermann-Linie's 3,908 GRT passenger ship Alexandra Woermann. The UK Shipping Controller seized her in 1919 as part of First World War reparations and sold her in 1920 to Ellerman's Wilson Line.

The Woermann-Linie was a German shipping company that existed from 1885 to 1941. It was founded on 15 June 1885 by Adolph Woermann and became one of the leading shipping companies to Africa. From 1899 it was based in Afrikahaus in Hamburg. In 1941–42 it was taken over by John T. Essberger.
