Witan Investment Trust plc (Witan) is the only global multi-managed investment trust, offering an equity portfolio diversified by geographical region, industrial sector and individual stock.

Witan is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.

History

Witan Investment Trust was created to manage the estate of Alexander Henderson, 1st Baron Faringdon in 1909.[1] First listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1924, it established Henderson Administration (now Henderson Global Investors) to manage its funds in 1932 and then sold its remaining stake in Henderson in 1997.[1] Andrew Bell was appointed CEO in 2010.[2]

Operations

The company has assets under management of approximately £1.11 billion.[3] Its portfolio is actively managed by 12 investment managers for 6 different mandates,[3] with overall asset allocation and risk being managed by Witan’s executive team.

The CEO of Witan Investment Trust is Andrew Bell. The chairman of Witan Investment Trust is Harry Henderson.[4]
