The 21st District of the Wisconsin Senate is located in south-eastern Wisconsin, currently covering most of Racine County. ^[1]

Current elected officials

The district is currently represented by John Lehman, a Democrat who defeated Republican Van H. Wanggaard (who had defeated Lehman in 2010) in a recall election on June 5, 2012. With the margin of victory less than 1,000 votes, Van Wanggaard asked for a recount, but lost in the end.

Since the district has been redistricted, Lehman chose not to run for re-election in 2014, opting instead to seek the Democratic nomination for Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin (which he won). Wanggaard sought and received the nomination to run once more for his old seat; he will face Democrat Randy Bryce in the general election.

The area of the 21st Senate District contains three State Assembly Districts:^[2]

The 61st (represented by Samantha Kerkman)
The 62nd (represented by Tom Weatherston)
The 63rd (represented by Robin Vos)

The district is also located within Wisconsin's 1st congressional district, which is represented by U.S. Representative Paul Ryan. ^[3]
