Winston Frederick Churchill Guest

Winston Frederick Churchill Guest (May 20, 1906 – October 25, 1982), was an Anglo-American polo champion and a member of the Guest family of Britain.

Biography

He was born on May 20, 1906, to Frederick Guest, a British politician who was the grandson of John Spencer-Churchill, 7th Duke of Marlborough. Winston's mother was Amy Phipps, who was the daughter of Henry Phipps, Jr., an American businessman and philanthropist.

Winston Guest won the International Polo Cup in 1930, 1936 and 1939. His first marriage was to Helena Woolworth McCann, whose grandfather was the American business magnate F. W. Woolworth. They subsequently divorced.

He later married Lucy Douglas Cochrane, known as C. Z. Guest, in 1947. He died on October 25, 1982, at Nassau Hospital in Mineola, New York.^[1]

Family

His brother, Raymond R. Guest, was the United States Ambassador to Ireland from 1965 to 1968.

Winston Guest had two sons with Helena Woolworth McCann:
