Winnie Harlow (born Chantelle Brown-Young in Toronto) is a Canadian model who has had vitiligo since the age of four.[2] She is a "vitiligo spokesmodel".[3]

Early life

About her childhood, she said : "While growing up, I was teased, ridiculed and bullied and called names like cow, zebra and all manner of other disparaging slurs".[1] After changing schools, she decided to see her disease in a positive way and accept it.[1]

Career

Winnie Harlow, then known by the name of Chantelle Brown-Young was discovered in the 21st cycle of America's Next Top Model after its host Tyra Banks noticed her on Instagram.[4] After being eliminated in the fourth episode, she returned in the tenth before being eliminated in the thirteenth, finishing as the fifth runner-up.

In 2014, she advertised Desigual. About that, she said "Desigual stands for being unusual and unique and atypical, so they figured I'd be the perfect person for that".[5] She closed the Ashish Spring/Summer 2015 fashion show.[5] She worked for Showstudio, i-D and Dazed & Confused.

In 2015, she walked for Desigual[6] and advertised Diesel.[7]
