Windward Reports is a suite of enterprise-level reporting software, document generation software, and business intelligence software for business teams. Windward Reports is used for stand-alone reporting, custom reporting applications, and as the basis for OEM, VAR and other integrated data presentation needs.
History
Windward, formerly Windward Reports, was created by Windward Studios. Windward Studios,founded in 1996, was initially a game development studio that produced the real-time strategy game Enemy Nations. In 2002, Windward began focusing on developing data software solutions, primarily for reporting and document generation. Windward is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado.
Products
Windward uses Microsoft Office as its report template design tool. The core products it provides are:
- AutoTag - an addin for Microsoft Office used to design report templates.
- Windward Engine - an enterprise reporting & document generation engine available in both a Java (software platform) and .NET Framework version.
- Javelin - a web-based reporting system that is programming language independent
- Arrow (Open Source) - Windward's implementation of the .NET engine as a SharePoint web part. Allows scheduling and report creation with option to email results.
- The Kailua Project (Open Source) - a set of extensions for the ADO.NET and TimeZone classes.
Media coverage
Cubicle Wars, an early marketing video by the company, received an overwhelming response when it debuted in 2006.[1] With over 2 million views on YouTube and Digg.com the video become a small internet phenomenon.
