William "Billy" Thornton is an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1940s, playing at representative level for England, and at club level for Hunslet.
Playing career
International honours
Billy Thornton won a cap for England while at Hunslet in 1943 against Wales.[1]
Rugby Football League Championship final appearances
Billy Thornton played Scrum-half/Halfback in Hunslet's 8-2 victory over Leeds in the 1937-38 Rugby Football League Championship final at Elland Road on Saturday 30 April 1938.[2]
