William Smith Peck, Jr. (April 12, 1916 February 1987),[1] was a businessman from Sicily Island in Catahoula Parish, Louisiana, who served as a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1956–1964, during the administrations of Governors Earl Kemp Long and Jimmie Davis. His father, William S. Peck, Sr., held the same House seat from 1920-1928.[2]

Descended from a pioneer Catahoula Parish family, Peck was a brother-in-law of State Senator and State Representative J.C. "Sonny" Gilbert, also of Sicily Island. Gilbert's first wife was the former Barbara Jane Peck (1922–1985).[1] William Peck's mother was the former Estelle Woodard (1893–1983).[1] A brother, Henry C. Peck, Sr. (1919–2004),[1] was a Sicily Island banker, contractor, cattleman, and farmer.[3]

Peck was married three times. His first wife, Juanita (1914–1982)[1] was the mother of his two children, Betty Peck Shaffer (born 1944) and Will S. Peck, IV (1939–1989).[1][4] His third wife is Elaine T. Peck (born 1934) of Sicily Island.[5] Peck was a member of the Sicily Island United Methodist Church. He died at the age of seventy and is entombed in a private cemetery on Ferry Place.
