William Mair Cushing (October 25, 1853 - January 5, 1925) served as the first mayor of the Village of Elkhorn in Manitoba, after its incorporation on January 2, 1906. This first mayoral election was extremely close and Cushing defeated his opponent, W.J. Thompson, by a single vote.
Cushing had also served as the Reeve of the Rural Municipality of Wallace for one term in 1892.
