William E. Morris (politician)

William E. "Bill" Morris (July 28, 1920 - June 25, 2013[1][2]) founded the Libertarian Party of Delaware in 1975 and the advocacy group Seniors Against Federal Extravagance[3] as an alternative to the AARP in 1997. In 2004, Morris first ran for political office as the Delaware Libertarian candidate for a United States House of Representatives seat. Morris finished fourth behind the two other candidates on the ballot and Write-in candidate Maurice J. Barros with 2,014 votes (0.5%) . In 2006, Morris was the Libertarian candidate for United States Senate. Morris received 2,671 votes for 1.1% of the vote.[4]
