William George Burns (22 October 1933 16 March 2009)[1] was an Australian politician. He was a publican before entering politics. In 1977, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal member for Isaacs, succeeding David Hamer, who transferred to the Senate. He held the seat until his defeat in 1980 by a Labor candidate.[2]
