Willi Holdorf (born 17 February 1940 in Blomesche Wildnis near Glückstadt) is a West German athlete who mainly competed in the decathlon.
Career
He competed for the United Team of Germany in the 1964 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan, where he won the gold medal in the men's decathlon event.
Coaching career
After retiring Holdorf worked as a coach, both in athletics and football. He coached eventual pole vault silver medalist Claus Schiprowski during the 1968 Summer Olympics and later managed German Bundesliga side SC Fortuna Köln in football.[1][2]
Personal life
Willi Holdorf is the father of Dirk Holdorf, a former professional football player.[2]
