Wikimania 2014 was the tenth Wikimania conference, held from 8 to 10 August 2014.[1] Bidding officially opened in December 2012. London was chosen in May 2013 as the host city[2] with the only other bid coming from Arusha (Tanzania).
The keynote address was given by Salil Shetty, Secretary General of Amnesty International.[3] The event was also the first Wikimania addressed by the Wikimedia Foundation's new Executive Director, Lila Tretikov.[3]
The event was preceded by a two-day hackathon, and a series of fringe events.[3]
