Wigan by-election, 1958

The Wigan by-election of 12 June 1958 was held after the death of Labour MP (MP) Ronald Williams:[1]

The seat was very safe, having been won by Labour at the United Kingdom general election, 1955 by nearly 15,000 votes[2]
