Wickwar Brewing Company
The Wickwar Brewing Company is a brewery based in Wickwar, South Gloucestershire, England. It was founded by Ray Penny in 1990 as a microbrewery, using premises previously belonging to Arnold's Cooperage, cider brewers. In recent years the brewery has expanded considerably and brewed from the Old Brewery works (founded in 1860 as Arnold, Perret & Co.) across the road (and next to the main Bristol to Birmingham railway line, and former railway station). Its best known beer is 'Brand Oak Bitter' (aka 'BOB'), while another, 'Station Porter', was CAMRA's Champion Winter Beer of Britain in 2008.
