Sannie Charlotte Carlson, best known as Whigfield, is a Danish born, Italian based Eurodance singer best known for the song "Saturday Night" which was a hit in 1994.[1] Singles from her following albums were also very popular across Europe in the mid '90s and were produced by Italian producer Larry Pignagnoli.[1]

Personal life

Sannie Charlotte Carlson was born in Skælskør, Denmark. She spent several years in Africa as a child before returning to her native country. Before singing Sannie worked as model and studied music.[1] She met the producer Larry Pignagnoli and took on the name "Whigfield" as a tribute to her piano teacher.[1][3]

Musical career

Her single "Saturday Night" entered the Top-5 in Italy as well as in other European markets in October 1994.[4] Her single "Another Day" also managed to peak at No.3 in Italy where she was then based.[5] "The single "Another Day" did also well in number of other markets where it entered the Top-10 including UK, Switzerland, Norway and her native Denmark.[6][7][8]
