Where Could He Be?
"Where Could He Be?" is a song performed by late American R&B singer Aaliyah. The song also features Missy Elliott, who performs the spoken intro and Tweet who sings the background as well as the outro. Both Elliott and Tweet provide background vocals throughout the song.[1] The song contains a sample of Lisa Stansfield's "All Around the World". The song was recorded in early 2001 and was to be included on Aaliyah's final studio album, however, the song never made the final cut of the album. In 2005, it was released to radio airwaves and originally expected to serve as a buzz single for Aaliyah's second posthumous project (formerly titled, The Aaliyah Duets); however Blackground confirmed it was an illegally leaked song, resulting in radio stations to remove the song from their airwaves.
Radio airplay
Soon after the song was leaked in early 2005, it started to gain increasing airplay. However, it was later confirmed that the song was illegally leaked and therefore had to be immediately deleted and pulled from radio outlets. Due to heavy airplay, "Where Could He Be?" almost managed to chart on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, peaking at number 20 on the Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart (in the first of its two-week lasting airplay).
