Plot

With Bob and his girlfriend Joanne making plans to be away for the weekend, Eric and Donna make plans of their own to stay alone at the Pinciotti house, much to the dismay of Kelso, Hyde, and Fez who want to party there. To hide this from Red and Kitty, Eric tells them that he is staying at Fez's overnight. Soon, Kitty receives a phone call from the store where Eric bought Donna her engagement ring, as Fenton tells her that "Mr. Forman's" ring is ready to be picked up. Kitty assumes it is a secret gift from Red, as she goes to check it out. Upon arrival, she reads on the ring "To Donna, love Eric", discovering that Eric and Donna are engaged. While she keeps it secret from Red, Red does find out that Eric is staying at Donna's, when he sees Fez hanging out in the basement with Hyde, Kelso, and Jackie.

Meanwhile, Eric and Donna are eating dinner together at Donna's house. Afterwards, Eric immediately has to use the bathroom, partially due to his dinner possibly being undercooked. Due to not wanting to use the bathroom closest to Donna, he tries using the bathroom at Kelso's house, who (with Fez) rejects Eric due to him not letting him have a party at Donna's. Eric then tries to go to his own house, only to get locked out on purpose by Red. Eric then gives up and uses the bathroom at Donna's house.

The next morning, Eric comes back home and immediately gets yelled at by Red, who chastises Eric for lying to his parents, as well as being defiant and immature. Eric decides that Red is right and tells him the truth that he and Donna are engaged, which leaves Red in silence as Eric leaves the house.

In another part of the episode, Kitty decides to buy Hyde a new jacket due to his old one having a huge tear. She winds up buying him a flashy, red Stuntman jacket that he doesn't like and ends with people comparing him to Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit. During the credits, Kitty and Hyde see Bob wearing the same jacket, and Kitty immediately decides that Hyde is right about the jacket and decides to donate it to Goodwill.
