Westview High School is a public high school in Portland, Oregon, United States in the Beaverton School District. It opened in 1994 and its first graduating class was in June 1996.

Students

Of the 2,208 students at Westview in 2002-2003, 6.7% required ESL education. Westview had about 2,798 students in the 2007 school year.

Academics

In 2008, 83% of the school's seniors received their high school diploma. Of 647 students, 538 graduated, 61 dropped out, 4 received a modified diploma, and 44 were still in high school.[5][6]>

Extracurricular activities

Westview robotics team/club

In 2005, the team won the Rookie All Star Award at the Pacific Northwest Regional held at the Portland Coliseum, and a seat at the FIRST Robotics Championship in Atlanta,[7] but they did not win.

Westview speech and debate (forensics)

The Westview Forensics Team is currently the largest in Oregon. The 2006, 2007, and 2012 season both ended with a State Championship Title in the Oregon School Activities Association [OSAA] State Competition. In 2012, Westview High School won 1st place at the OSAA State Championship winning individual state titles in Impromptu and Oratory. They also took first in the 6A division.
