Weston Favell Academy caters for pupils aged 11 to 18. The academy was previously 'Weston Favell Upper School', prior to its takeover by GDFT in 1st September 2011. The academy is sponsored by the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust (GDFT) which is now the sponsor of 21 Academies. The Chief Executive of the GDFT is Barry Day, former headteacher at the Greenwood Dale School.
