Westlake High School (New York)
Westlake High School is located at 825 Westlake Drive in Thornwood, New York. Westlake is the High School serving the Mount Pleasant Central School District. The hamlets of Hawthorne and Thornwood are inclusive in the Mount Pleasant CSD. The hamlet of Valhalla and the village of Pleasantville have portions served by Westlake. The campus of Westlake High School also includes Westlake Middle School, and the Mt. Pleasant Central School District's office. Westlake High School and Westlake Middle School has seen a big increase in student enrollment since 2006 and continue to increase every year. In 2007, Newsweek named Westlake number 816 in their top 1000 public high schools in America. Westlake High School was rated number 173 in Newsweeks Top 500 High Schools of 2011 in America.

Westlake offers a variety of after school clubs, including: Environmental Club, Service Club, Film Club, Math Club, Italian Club, Spanish Club, National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, English Honor Society, Dance Club, Contact America, Junior Statesmen Of America [Debate], Chess Club, Mock Trial, Westlake Word (Newspaper), Tech Club, S.A.D.D., S.T.A.R, Principle Advisory, Gay Straight Alliance, Autism Speaks, Minecraft Club and Book Club.
Notable alumni
- Ernie Sabella, WHS'68, an actor who appeared on Saved By The Bell, Seinfeld and Perfect Strangers; he voiced Pumba in Disney's The Lion King.
- Daniel J. O'Brien, WHS'76, corporate executive, served as President and COO of Primestar, which sold its assets to Hughes Network Systems, now the DirecTV Group, parent company of DirecTV. He was also President of Time Warner Satellite Services, and Chief Operating Officer of High Speed Access Corp.
- Robert F. Thompson, WHS'79?, a musician & producer who garnered 2 Grammy nominations, toured with the Moody Blues, the Temptations, the Four Tops and worked as a music consultant to the Johnny Depp/Cate Blanchett film The Man Who Cried.
- Rob Astorino, WHS'85, is the Westchester County Executive; media personality/radio host and program director for the Catholic Channel on SIRIUS Satellite Radio.
- Michael C. Williams, WHS'91, an actor - most famous for his role in The Blair Witch Project
