Western Reserve Hospital

Western Reserve Hospital is a hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. In addition to the main hospital, it maintains six satellite locations around the region.[1]

History

Founded in 1943 as Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital, the hospital became a full member of Summa Health Systems in 2001. It is a charter member of the Centers of Osteopathic Research and Education, and is fully accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program.[2]

In 2015, Summa Health Systems, which owns a 40% stake in the hospital, sued to keep its partnership with the hospital, after the doctors who owned a stake in the hospital decided to leave. The partnership, which began in 2009, entered into dispute when it was alleged by the doctors that Summa was violating terms of the agreement when they entered into a deal in 2013 with HealthSpan Partners. According to the doctor group, by giving minority ownership to HealthSpan, Western Reserve was limited to where it could offer its services.[3]
