The Western Promenade Historic District is a historic district in Portland, Maine, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is bounded by the Western Promenade and Bramhall, Brackett, Emery, and Danforth Streets. It includes a number of homes dating from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Gothic House
The Gothic House also known as the John J. Brown House is a historic house on Spring Street in Portland, Maine. Located in the West End, it was built in 1845[2] and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.[3]
Leighton House
The Adam P. Leighton House is a historic colonial revival house on the Western Promenade. It was built from 1902-03 with Frederick A. Tompson as the architect.[2]
Stevens House
The John Calvin Stevens House is a historic house located on Bowdoin St. in the historic district. It was the home of noted architect John Calvin Stevens House.[2]
Western Cemetery
The Western Cemetery was the primary cemetery for Portland during the early and mid-nineteenth century.[2]
