Western Airlines Flight 701

Western Airlines Flight 701 was hijacked on June 2, 1972 by Willie Roger Holder and Catherine Marie Kerkow.[1] Initially intending to divert the plane to North Vietnam, Holder and Kerkow ended up in Algeria, where they joined up with the International Section of the Black Panther Party. After living in France for a number of years, the couple separated; Holder returned to the United States and Kerkow disappeared.[2][3][4][5][6]

It is the subject of Brendan I. Koerner's 2013 non-fiction work The Skies Belong to Us.[7]
