West Leederville is a Transperth metropolitan railway station located 2.7 kilometres (1.7 mi) west of Perth railway station, Western Australia, on the Fremantle Line. West Leederville is the main station serving Subiaco Oval.
History
A station at West Leederville was not part of the original Eastern Railway between Fremantle and Guildford when it opened on 1 March 1881. A realigned track through the new Leederville Cutting between West Leederville and West Perth station was opened for traffic on 9 June 1897, and on 12 July the station was opened as Leederville. The station name was changed to West Leederville in 1913 to reflect the name of the local area.[1][2]
Platforms
Apart from A-pattern trains, all trains service West Leederville station. During morning and afternoon peak periods trains operate every twenty minutes in each direction. Trains run every 15 minutes during daylight off-peak hours, and every 30 minutes in the evenings till midnight.[3] Between 5.30am and 6.00pm all Perth-bound trains from West Leederville, except one, are Midland Line through-services terminating at Midland station.[4]
