West Lakes Academy (formerly Wyndham School) is a secondary school with academy status in the town of Egremont, Cumbria, England.
Wyndham School was built and opened in the 1960s. The school merged with Ehenside School in 2008,[1] and reopened as West Lakes Academy on September 1, 2008. The academy is on the site of the old Wyndham, and has been fully rebuilt since Easter 2012.
New Building
Upon founder-ship, West Lakes Academy was based in the old buildings of Wyndham School, But has since relocated to a new-build on the same site, This £26m investment focusses on nurturing the areas of technologies, science and performing arts.
Along with the new building came many a great resource, The introduction of Apple macintosh computers allows for the Students of West Lakes Academy to express their creative needs in art, photography and music lessons, Again tying into the £26m investment.
