West Exe School is one of the five secondary schools in Exeter, Devon, England. West Exe School was previously known as West Exe Technology College and St Thomas High School before that. The catchment area for the school is the St Thomas area, Alphington, and some parts of Exwick. A new school building was opened in 2006, with the old being demolished.

Houses

The five houses are named after different bishops of Exeter throughout the middle and early modern eras.

Only four of the houses are currently in mainstream usage, as Pelham is only used for students who have joined from home education to sit the GCSE exams. It will, however, be reinstated as a main house after the next Baby Boom takes place.

Current Projects

Plan to Expand the School Library

As the school is expecting to take in more students soon, they have formulated plans to build a new overhanging library. The current library is considered too small for the changing needs of the school.

The Big Bang South West

The school's G&T group are planning to enter the science and technology fair in 2015.

Today

Ofsted Report

The school was rated as Good in 2013-14, but are pushing for Outstanding. Exclusion rates have increased recently as part of a deliberate policy to reduce misbehaviours, but rates have fallen steadily since.

Canteen

Services in the canteen are provided by Carillon.
