Wellington's main street

Wellington is a farming community located in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada with a population of 1,860 (2011 Census). Once called Smokeville after a local First Nations elder, the name was changed in the 1860s to Wellington.

One of Prince Edward County's earliest residents, Daniel Reynolds, first came to the area in the 18th century and settled in Wellington where his house remains today along Main Street.[1]

Wellington is home to the Wellington Dukes Junior A hockey team of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
