Weiß (Sieg) is a river of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, which is 18.1 kilometers (11.2 mi) in length. Its source is near the mountain Kalteiche, at a height of 493 meters (1,617 ft) above sea level. Then it flows through the villages Wilgersdorf, Rudersdorf, Anzhausen, Niederdielfen, Kaan-Marienborn, and Siegen. The Weiß flows in Siegen in a high of 235 meters into the Sieg.

The source of the weiß, is located within North Rhine-Westphalia, about 220 m north-west of the border with Hesse . It is located in Rothaargebirge 1.6 km south of Wilgersdorf , 1.3 km east of the Kalteiche (579.3 m) and about 600 meters north of its eastern neighbor survey Hirschenstein (562.9 m) above sea level to about 493 m. NHN . In about 125 meters to the west leads to the source of the country road past 904 Wilnsdorf (in the north) and the Hessian border (in the south) connects (each a straight line ). Directly to the White source over the Wilgersdorfer loop trail runs on Bergmann paths. The White source is surrounded by a small clearing in the state forest Kalteiche. It is not framed, but emerges from a rock column; the spring water running over stepped rocks into the valley.

History

The Weiß runs in predominantly north-westerly direction. After about 20 m flow distance it is from a trickle fed, which is about 400 m west-southwest of the Weiß source of 904 L rises to 521 m height. The river flows through Wilgersdorf, where among other things the water of the goldsmith Borns receives, which consists of the same name from the Sauerland Mountain Club combined (SGV) Source emerges on the slopes of Kalteiche. After passing the railroad Dill route the White takes the right side their biggest inflow, the Bichelbach on. Then it passes the Anzhäuser mill with the local industrial area Anzhäuser mill and reached after a short time the place Anzhausen . After subsequent passing of the commercial area Klabach-Mühlengraben and southern passage of Flammersbach , where the White receives the same stream, it runs at Niederdielfen past, from there on the left side the Dielfe on. A little further it flows through the industrial area Weisstal. Then the White reaches the town of Siegen.

Mouth

After a short underground section of the river flows into the White Siegener lower town near the Apollo Theater , a little south-west or south of the railway station road, approximately 235 m above sea level. NHN height in there coming from north-northeast victory . Between source and mouth of white, this results in a difference in altitude of about 258 m.
