Weed Country is an American reality television series on the Discovery Channel that premiered on February 20, 2013, during Discovery Channel's programming block titled Weed Wednesdays.[1] The series follows dealers, growers and patients of the marijuana trade located within the Emerald Triangle along with the enforcers of the law, the Siskiyou County sheriffs office.[2][3][4]

Controversy

Much like the Discovery Channel series Moonshiners, Weed Country has already been criticized as being a fake or scripted television show. Commentators on blogs and forums claim the show is not only intentionally fleecing viewers, but paints the medical marijuana industry in a bad light.[12]
