We-Sport is a vertical social network that connects athletes and sport professional profile. Founded in 2009 as a spin-off at Motor Science Research Center of SUISM[2][3][4][5] of University of Turin. It is a network that allow to organize meetings and training sessions[6][7] of several sports (there are more that 400 sports registered), to share photos and videos and to find sport facilities.[8]

History

We-Sport was created in May 2009 in Turin by Marco Ivaldi, Marco Iacuaniello and Aurelian Vacariuc. It is permanently available in beta version from November 2009 and in normal version from July 2011. In June 2012 We-Sport has been included in the dossier for candidature[9] of Turin 2015[10] as European Capital of Sport and it also available on the City of Turin[11] website.[12][13] From November 2013 is available an app for Android devices. We-Sport has been financed by Parmalat through the project Milk&Smile[14] in 2010, in the 2013 and in the 2014 through a project of sport advices.

We-Sport has won several awards and it has also analyzed by studies of social network analysis.[15][16][17][18][19]
