WaterTower Music is an American record label owned by Time Warner and operates as a division of Warner Bros. Entertainment. It was founded in January 2010 as the successor to both Warner Sunset Records and New Line Records.[1] The label is named after the iconic water tower of Warner Bros. Studios. Like most early film studios, Warner Bros. built a water tower because movie sets were and are still highly flammable, and the nitrate film used in early filmmaking was also extremely flammable.

Founded to release movie soundtracks after the spinoff of Warner Music Group from Time Warner, WaterTower Music has grown beyond this initial purpose and has built a roster of indie rock acts such as The Sounds, OFFICE, Robbers on High Street, The Sights and Midnight Movies.
